Jonathan Rodriguez ’20, senior year experience career peer advisor at the Center for Career Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL), recently participated as a student guest of the Central Jersey and New Jersey Chapters at the National Casualty and Property Underwriting (CPCU) Annual Society meeting in New Orleans.

During the four day conference, Rodriguez participated in seminars featuring best practices within the insurance and risk management industries and engaged in meaningful conversations with students industry professionals worldwide.

CEEL Hosts Dinner with the Regents at Laico’s

Another fall “Dinner with the Regents” was recently held at Laico’s in Jersey City. The dinner was hosted by William T. Price III ’91, vice president and chief communications officer at Zoetis, and Mary C. Jain ’79, marketing representative of Business Edge Solutions. Students learned about professional dining etiquette and developed networking skills from the Regents. The “Dinner with the Regents” program was developed by the Center for Career Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL) to connect students with successful alumni and friends that are leaders in business and in the community. Students Learn about Job Opportunities at the New York Mets

On Wednesday, February 20, Zachary Johnston, director new business development, and Matt Cohen, manager premium service at the New York Mets collaborated with the Center for Career Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL) to organize an information session. The event consisted of a presentation, which informed students of the career growth, benefits and internship/full time roles the New York Mets have to offer. In addition, students received insight that would help them stand out during an interview. Johnston and Cohen were impressed by the students and as a result, they encouraged them to apply for jobs at the New York Mets. Students Dine with the Regents in Networking Program

Students recently attended “Dinner With the Regents,” a networking program organized by the Board of Regents, the Office of Advancement and External Affairs and the Center for Career Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL). Students met with their alumnae hosts at Abbondanza Trattoria in Jersey City to learn the important skills of business etiquette during a meal. The program’s goal is to provide an interactive setting in which students are better prepared to engage in professional business conversations.

The Center for Career Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL) hosted a career preparation seminar with special guest presenter Animesh Singh ’14. Singh shared his professional journey since graduation, spoke about his role as a member of the SA��ʴ�ý Peter’s University Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) Committee and offered tips and advice for crafting a winning resume. The seminar was part of the Senior Success Program.

An Internship Recruiter from Pfizer comes to Campus

The Center for Career Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL) hosted a Pfizer Internship Information Session on September 21. During the session, students watched a video about the company, listened to a presentation from company representatives and heard from the chief medical officer and CEO. The School of Business and the Center for Career Engagement & Experiential Learning (CEEL) are pleased to announce that once again SA��ʴ�ý Peter’s University has been invited to be part of the Goldman Sachs Local College Collaborative program.

The Goldman Sachs Local College Collaborative (LCC) is a unique leadership program that brings together college students with Goldman Sachs business leaders to develop leadership, career readiness, business management, analytical, teamwork, networking, and presentation skills.

Students with a minimum of 30 credits and 3.0 GPA in any major can apply. The deadline to submit an application is September 30. For more information, attend the on September 20 from noon-1:00 p.m. or contact Taina Cutler at tcutler@saintpeters.edu.

SA��ʴ�ý Peter’s Regents Carlos Lejnieks H’11 and Ken Moore ’91 hosted a career networking dinner for students at the Roman Nose Restaurant in Jersey City. The Dinner With A Regents Program is an integral part of the career preparedness initiative by the SA��ʴ�ý Peter’s Board of Regents in which students experience first hand professional business etiquette within a dining experience. The program’s goal is to better prepare students through thoughtful engagement with alumni/ae regents and gain a solid understanding of their industries and career backgrounds. This is a collaborative initiative between the Office of Advancement and External Affairs and the Center for Career Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL).

Ten students from SA��ʴ�ý Peter’s University have been selected to participate in the Goldman Sachs Local College Collaborative (GSLCC) program, a semester-long experiential learning opportunity. The students were selected by the Center for Career Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL) and the business administration department. The GSLCC is a partnership between the corporate services and real estate division of Goldman Sachs and four local schools. During the spring semester, teams from each school will work closely with Goldman Sachs employees on real-world business scenarios and present their solutions to a mock board of directors at the firm.

On September 14, the Center for Career Engagement & Experiential Learning (CEEL) and 10 SA��ʴ�ý Peter’s students with backgrounds in IT, data science, mathematics, business data analytics and cyber security participated in the inaugural open house for the Technology Analyst Program (TAP) sponsored by JPMorgan Chase & Co. The event highlighted the necessary requirements for successfully applying to the full-time analyst positions and SA��ʴ�ý internships in software and infrastructure engineering. Included in the information session was a tour of the JPMorgan Chase & Co. headquarters in downtown Jersey City and interactive discussions with the company’s managing director of technology. Two more open houses are scheduled for September 27 and 29. Students with an IT related major interested in attending either session should contact CEEL at careerengagement@saintpeters.edu.
